SSLC LEVEL:

NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF OPEN SCHOOLING (NIOS) (GOVT OF INDIA):
Highlights of Secondary Course:

	This course is equivalent to +10th standard (Secondary School Certificate).
	You can choose a maximum of two languages to be attempted for obtaining a pass certificate. Learners are however advised to select the subjects as per their future plan of study and work.
	9 chances in 5 years to complete a course; part paper is also permitted.
	Facility of online registration for admission & Examination credit accumulation facility.
	Examination centres in all distric headquarters of Kerala.
	one can write examination (subjects) in Malayalam or English language.
	This certificate is recognized and accepted everywhere for higher studies as well as for employment.
	Usually examination is conducted twice a year during April-May & October-November. Students can change the subjects after appearing for 1st examination, if they so desire.
	Facility of transfer of credits (up to 2 subject) from some other Boards.

Highlights of Senior Secondary Course:

	This course is equivalent to +2/12th standard (Senior Secondary School Certificate).
	Persons who have passed SSLC and want to go for higher studies or those whofail PDC/+2 course, can study NIOS Sr.Secondary Course and pass within 1 year time.
	Subjects can be attempted either in English or Malayalam. However question papers will be in English.
	After completion of this course, one can get admission in Kerala itself to pursue highter studies in B.A/B.Com/LLB/TTC, etc. courses.
	It Is very advantageous to study this course for the students who are unable to complete the courses and employees working in government services for getting promotions.
	There will be one year gap after passing SSLC to take the Sr. Secondary course.
	Examination centre in all district headquarters of Kerala.

Regular Stream Degree Courses for admission to B.A./B.Com

Regular stream courses are meant for persons who satisfy the conditions prescribed for the Graduates/Postgraduate/Professional courses in regular colleges affiliated to Calicut University who wish to pursue the studies through Distance Education mode.

Open Stream Degree Courses for admission to B.A./B.Com:

Open Stream Degree course are designed to meet the educational needs of individuals who do not have the basic qualification needed for admission to regular degree courses.

Courses offered under Open Stream:

(A) B.A. Degree Courses:

(B) B.Com - Cooperation or Finance (Optional) : Eligibility: Any person who has attained the age of 18 years as on 1st of July of the year of admission is eligible to seek admission to the course. However, the applicant has to appear for an entrance examination conducted by the University and to secure a minimum of 35% marks in the examination for admission to the Degree Course.
	Entrance exam consists of 3 papers, viz., Paper I: General English, Paper II: (2) Hindi/Malayalm, and Paper III: History/Economics/Political Science/Commerce.
	The syllabus and question papers are simple and with a little effort one can pass the entrance exam easily. We provide simple study materials both in Malayalam and English for this purpose. Regular classes, sunday classes and postal classes are arranged to give coaching for the exam.
	Person can attempt papers either in Malayalam or English. Exam centre in all district headquarters of Kerala, except Idukki, Pathanamthitta & Alappuzha and selected centers in Gulf countries.
	Note: Students taking B.A. 'Malayalam' should opt for malayalam as paper II for the entrance exam. B.Com students should opt for Commerce as paper III for the same exam. Those students who opt for commerce can join only for B.Com and others can join only for B.A. Course.
	Certificates issued for Open Stream students by Calicut University are the same certificate issued for students studied at regular colleges. Thereby there is no discrimination and open stream students can pursue highter studies without any hindrance.

(2) CALICUT UNIVERSITY B.A./B.Com (1st, 2nd & 3rd year):

	We are admitting students for the 1st, 2nd & 3rd year B.A./B.Com courses
	Eligibility: Individuals who got admission through private registration or through entrance Examination conducted by the University of Calicut can join 1st year course and persons who got admission through private registration or through distance education (correspondece course) can take admission for the 2nd and 3rd year courses.
	Study materials are prepared by the expert professors and teachers on question and answer mode in Malayalam and English for the benefit of our students. This will enable our students to grasp the subjects easily and come out successful in examinations.
	Medium of Instruction/Exam: English/Malayalam

B.A. Main Subjects: Economics, History, Sociology, Political Science & English (Students can choose any one as the main subject)

(3) KANNUR UNIVERSITY - B.A. (English or History Main)/B.Com Regular Scheme:

We are admitting students for regular coaching for the 1st year B.A.(English or History Main)/B.Com Degree courses of the Kannur University through Distance Education mode.

Eligibility: A pass in Pre - Degree, +2 or equivalent examination of any recognized University or board in India. No age limit.

Medium: English/Malayalam

(1) CALICUT UNIVERSITY - M.A/M.Com.
We enroll students for M.A. English, Sociology and Economics & M.Com.
M.A. English:
Eligibility: All Graduates having 45% marks or more for part I English (except B.Com) and Graduate in B.A. English Literature having 45% marks or more under Part III (Main subjects) are eligible.
M.A. Sociology:
Eligibiltiy: All Graduates having 45% marks or more for PartIII or Sociology (Optional) are eligible.
M.A. Economics:
Eligibility: All Economics & B.Com graduates having 45% marks or more under part III and B.Sc. Maths and Statistics Graduates having 60% marks or more under Part III are eligible.
Note: 1) Detailed syllabus and subjects of study already mentioned in the prospectus.
2) A concession of 5% of marks will be given to OBC candidates and SC/ST candidates need only a pass in qualifying examination. Community certificates in original to be produced at the time of admission to claim concessions. This applies to al cases of admission to M.A. Courses.
Concession to Teachers: Teaching having experience for more than 3 years in a recognized schools are excepted from minimum marks restriction proved an experience certificate duly countersigned by SAEO/DEO is produced along with the application.
M.Com:
Eligibility: Those who have passed B.Com, BBA, BBS, BBM, Degree courses are eligible. BBA, BBS, BBM degree holders with at least 45% marks and B.Com. Graduates with at least 45% marks or more under Part III are eligible for admission.

(2) KANNUR UNIVERSITY - M.A./ M.Com.

We enroll students for M.A. English, History, Political Science, Economics & M.Com.
M.A. English:
Eligibility: Pass in B.A. in English or Functional English with a minimum of 45% marks in Part III main (Excluding Subsidiaries) or pass in B.A / B.Sc Degree with a minimum of 45% marks in part 1 English with three papers.
M.A. History:
Eligibility: Pass in B.A. in English or Functional English with a minimum of 45% marks in Part III main (excluding subsidiaries)
M.A. Economics:
Eligibility: Pass in B.A. Economics with a minimum of 45% marks in Part III main (Excluding subsidiaries). OR pass in B.Sc (Mathematics / Statistics) with a minimum of 70% marks in Part III (excluding subsidiaries).
M.A. Political Science:
Eligibility: Pass in B.A. Political Science with a minimum of 45% marks in Part III main (excluding subsidiaries). Pass in any Degree with a minimum of 45% marks in Part III.
M.Com:
Eligibility: Pass in B.Com/B.B.A/B.B.M/B.B.S equivalent Degree with not less than 45% marks in Part III.
